RELATE Website

The RELATE website (the link above) offers excellent advice and resources for parents who are in the process of separating or who have already separated.

Information from the RELATE website:

Being a parent isn’t easy, especially in the tough times like dealing with separation. When it comes down to the moments that matter, it’s the quality of our relationships that get parents and kids through. We know that separating well – where both parents are able to be amicable, cooperative and fully engaged with their children – means better outcomes for the whole family.

Our Being Parents Apart campaign aims to raise awareness of the challenges that separation brings and let parents know that we’re here to help.

How we can help

We offer a variety of support for parents and families at all stages of separation. Let us support you through the heartache and changes in a way that works for you.

The guide provides practical advice and covers:

  • Thinking about splitting up
  • Talking about separation
  • Coping with thoughts and feelings
  • Dealing with children's feelings and behaviour
  • Planning living arrangements
  • Preventing harm
  • Legal and money matters
