There is no need to book, just turn up!
The National Offer Day (when you find out that you have a place here) is the 16 April 2025 which is during our Easter break. As soon as we are back at school our office team will arrange to post your 'welcome pack' to you. In the meantime, some of the documents are here on this page.
Further down the page are the videos that we recorded when it wasn't possible to run the open days. Hopefully they will give you a flavour of the school.

Applying for a place at St Nicolas
1. Apply through Brighton & Hove Council as with any other school.
Their application form is here: Brighton & Hove Council Admissions
2. And then complete our admissions forms.
Note: In September 2013, due to the amalgamation of the Parishes of St Andrew and St Nicolas with that of the Parish of The Good Shepherd in Mile Oak, the Parish boundary was enlarged. This is important to know when applying under criteria 6 of the 'over subscription' criteria. Please see the current map of the Parish below.

We run our own breakfast club which starts at 7:50am.
Our after school provision is run by 'Stay & Play' (previously 'Pioneer Childcare') next door at Brackenbury Primary School until 6pm. They collect from St Nics straight after school and at 4:15pm when our own clubs finish.
Other after school clubs are not usually run for Reception until after Christmas because the children are exhausted by the end of the school day!
In the many years I have been at St Nics we have been over subscribed twice. On those two occasions, families from within the Portslade and Mile Oak parish boundaries who wanted to come here have all got a place but a small number of families from further afield have not.
As the number of children looking for places at local primary schools has fallen in recent years, and the fact that all of the local schools have a good reputation, means that your chances of getting your first choice school in Portslade are high.
Although the prospectus is available on the website, not all of the photographs are there as we may not have permission to put them on the school website.
We will post a paper copy to you if you send your contact address to admin@stnicolas.brighton-hove.sch.uk
