Admissions to Reception in September 2018
We are often asked what the chances are of a child getting in to the school and whether you have to be a church attender to secure a place. Below are the number of children admitted under each criteria in September 2017. So far we have never had to turn away any child who applied for a place from within the Portslade and Mile Oak Parish. Last year 1 child obtained a place from outside the parish.

Applying for a place at St Nicolas

At St Nicolas there are two steps to the admissions process.

1. Apply through Brighton & Hove Council as with any other school.

Their application form is here:  Brighton & Hove Council Admissions

2. And then complete our admissions forms

Note: As of September 2013 due to the amalgamation of the Parishes of St Andrew and St Nicolas with that of the Parish of The Good Shepherd in Mile Oak, the Parish boundary was enlarged. This is important to know when applying under criteria 6 of the 'over subscription' criteria. The map of the new Parish can be viewed in the school office.
Admissions Limit
The admissions limit is the maximum number of children who can be admitted into each year group. These are as follows:

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2: 60 children (30 per class).
Years 3, 4, 5 and 6: 64 children (32 per class).

For the 2015-16 intake into Year 3 the admissions limit was set at 32 children (one class). This will stay at 32 as the year group move through the school.
