Welcome to St Nics!

Thank you for choosing our school.

The National Offer Day (when you find out that you have a place here) is the 1st of March 2024, which is during our Easter break. As soon as we are back at school our office team will arrange to post your 'welcome pack' to you. In the meantime, some of the documents are here on this page.

What to expect, when? A parents’ guide

The purpose of this booklet is to help you as a parent/carer find out more about how your child is learning and developing during their first five years, in relation to the EYFS. Children develop more rapidly during the first five years of their lives than at any other time. This booklet has been written to help you as a parent know what to expect during these vitally important years by focusing on the seven areas of learning and development which are covered in the EYFS.

My Child's First Day At School

Sometimes it is the parents who find the first day more difficult that their children. At St Nics we usually do a parents coffee & tea morning so you can come in to the main hall so you can give each other moral support!
Reception Baseline Assessment

From September 2020 we are required to carry out a baseline assessment for the Government. This will not replace our own baseline assessment which we will use to inform our own teaching.

This video, which is produced by the Department for Education (DfE) explains their baseline assessment.
